Volleyball 2010 Commitments

TORI BOYD

TIU Volleyball welcomes Tori Boyd, a 6'1" Middle Blocker/ Right-side Hitter to their roster.  Tori comes with a wealth of experience, playing for Sports Performance and Avalanche Volleyball Clubs as well as Addison Trail High School in Addison, IL.

Planning on pursuing a career in teaching, Tori is a dedicated, focused young woman on and off the court.  Coach Rokosik adds, "Tori is a great addition to our program.  Not only will she provide depth for us at the net, Tori will add to the focused academic and spiritual culture of the team.  She is a delightful young woman off the court, and a determined athlete on the court." 

Residing in Addison IL, Tori is the daughter of  Todd and Cherly Boyd.

 

MADDIE PARKS

Coach Rokosik is pleased to announce the signing of Maddie Parks.  Maddie comes from Lena-Winslow High School, a competitive high school program in northwest Illinois who claimed the 2009 Regional Championship. 

Off the court, Maddie is an exceptional student and has been recognized for her academic pursuits by earning the Lena Winslow High School Scholarship Award twice and Academic All Conference for Outstanding Student Athletes.  She will be focusing her studies on Pre-Med with an emphasis in Bioethics while at Trinity.

"Maddie is a solid, versatile player who has experience in several positions.  We look for her to compete for the Outside Hitter position in the fall," stated Coach Rokosik.  "Maddie is also determined in her studies and growing in her Christian walk.  She will fit well into our program as we strive to accomplish our mission statement."

TIU Athletics exists to Glorify God through Jesus Christ by pursuing wholehearted excellence academically, athletically, relationally and spiritually through intercollegiate athletics.

Maddie is the daughter of Jeff and Jane Parks.

 

ALLIE BOGGS

Allie Boggs, a 5'8" setter from Wheaton Academy (Wheaton, IL) is the latest addition to the 2010 TIU Volleyball Squad.

"Allie is a smart player with good hands and a great attitude", Coach Rokosik said. "We know that she will work diligently on the court and in the classroom. She has tremendous potential to be the kind of player who will have a huge impact toward the continued growth and success of the program. Allie's character, athleticism, and volleyball IQ make her a valuable asset to the program."

Allie has been recognized for a variety of accollades.  As a senior, Allie received All Area Honorable Mention, and the Coach's Award for "Being the Coach on the Floor". She is currently competing with IPV (Illinois Performance Volleyball Club) out of Downer's Grove, IL.

As for her studies, Allie is interested in Chemistry and Nutrition. As a member of the National Honor Society, recipient of the 2008 Scholastic Athlete Award, and dedicated student who maintains a 4.34 GPA, Allie excels in the classroom.

 Allie is the daughter of Matt and Louise Boggs from Batavia, IL

 

JONI HOAG

Joni Hoag signed her Letter of Intent to join the Lady Trojans in the Fall of 2010.

Joni comes to TIU from Greenville High School in Greenville, IL, where she contributed to a win in the championship match of the IHSA Class 2A Alton Marquette Regional. At Greenville, she competed as a 3-sport athlete in volleyball, soccer and basketball. In 2009, as a senior, Joni received 1st Team All Conference in the South Central Conference (IL), and Best Offense Award for her team. A captain of both her volleyball and soccer teams, Joni is an instinctive leader.  
 
"Joni is a great contribution to our roster", Coach Rokosik said. "Her positive attitude, athleticism, and energy will be valuable to our team's chemistry. Joni is a tremendous young woman, and determined athlete. We will look for her to make significant contributions in her time here at Trinity." 
 
Joni is interested in studying Athletic Training. She is the daughter of David and Joanna Hoag and resides in Greenville, IL.
