Patrick
Gilliam has served as both the Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach at TrinityInternationalUniversity
since 1996. He has coached the men's team from 1996-2000 and again
for the last two seasons (2008-2009). He has led the women for
the last thirteen campaigns (1997-2009). Gilliam has guided the men's
team to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA)
national tournament in both 2000 and 2008. As women's soccer coach,
Gilliam's teams have posted impressive numbers, having won three CCAC regular
season and three conference tournament championships. In addition, the Lady
Trojans earned berths to nine consecutive national championship
tournaments (NCCAA in 1998 and 2002-2006, & NAIA from 1999-2001). In both
the 1998 and 2004 seasons, his Lady Trojan squads were crowned NCCAA National
Champions.
Prior
to coaching at Trinity, he was an English teacher and boys' and girls' varsity
soccer coach at AuroraChristianHigh
School from 1991 until 1996.
Gilliam
is a 1991 graduate of JudsonCollege, where he was a
physical education/ secondary education major and an English minor. He was a
four-year member of the Judson men's soccer team, earning all-conference honors
as a junior, and playing on two NCCAA National Tournament qualifiers.
Gilliam
was born and reared in St. Louis, Missouri, and he presently resides in Wheeling, Illinois with
his wife [Holly] and their two children [Ian-15, and
Emma-11]. He is also working toward a Master's Degree in Religion from TrinityEvangelicalDivinitySchool.
