Deerfield, IL - The TIU Men's Basketball team took both victories in their conference series against Judson Univeristy. The Trojans beat the Judson Eagles on the road on November 28th, 64-62, and then again at home on Satuday, January 26th, 83-66.

Judson Universy travelled to TIU Saturay evening off two losses in a row, 60-72 to University of St. Francis and 64-75 to Purdue University Calumet. The Trojans were looking to start a win streak after their 70-59 win on the road at Calumet St. Joseph.
Game Recap
The Trojans took an early lead against the Eagles, going up by 8 at 10-2 with three point baskets from Josh Markum and Daniel Metzelfeld. This lead proppelled the Trojans the majority of the first half, when they extended their lead by as many as 15 at 35-20 with 4:20 remaining. By the break the Trojans were up 39-32 by shooting 57.7% from the field to the Eagles 40.7%.
The Ealges got within 1 point of TIU at 42-41 just 3 minutes into the second half off back to back baskets from Judson's Frankie Cleope. The Trojans we're not shaken as Nathan Ball grabbed a steal and put it away to put the Trojans back up by 3. TIU worked to earn a 10 point lead by 12:51 at 58-48, however the Eagles Bob McCarthy put in a three point basket and two free throws as a part of Judson effort to remain in the game. The Ealges tied TIU for the first time all game with 8:37 remaining at 60-60. TIU's Metzelfeld put in two free throws at the tie, which was followed up by a steal from Senior Demontay Robinson who found Metzelfeld for another field goal basket. After a missed attempt from Judson Jason Roy, Trinity's Freshmen Josh Markum grabbed the rebound and found Metzelfelf, allowing the Trojans to regain the lead by 6 with 6:42 to go. The Trojans stopped the Eagles scoring effort at 75-66 with 2:51 left in the game, while they seperated from the Eagles by 17 points, taking the victory at home 83-66.

Overall, the Trojans shot 63.5% from the field, 53.8% at the three point line and 66.7% on the free throw line, while Judson went 40.7% from the field, 50% from the three point line, and 66.7% on the free throw line.
Metzelfeld leads the Trojan scoring with 22 points on the night along with 15 points from Robinson, 12 from Markum and 10 points and 9 rebounds from Ball. Judson was lead by Frankie Cleope with 23 points. TIU outrebounded Judson by 4, 29-25.

TIU is back on the road at Purdue University Calumet on Wednesday, January 30 at 7:30pm. Purdue took the victory in their last match up on December 1st 68-79.
