Deerfield, IL - The Trojans suffered a narrow 68-60 loss in the final minutes to the Trinity Christian College Trolls (6-14, 6-9) Saturday evening. 

Losing by 17 points at the half, the Trojans gave a different look in the second along with belief and a strong work ethic to fight back and tie the game at 51 a peice with 5 minutes remaining. The Trolls took over the lead again, and Trinity International trailed by just 3 with 1:30 to go when Trinity Christian made consistent shots to go up by 8 at the final whistle.


Senior Daniel Metzelfeld lead the Trojan scoring with 24 points in the second half, followed by Freshmen Josh Markum with 12 points and Senior Dillon Wadsack with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Trinity International shot 15% better in the second half with just 30.8% from the field in the first and 45.2% in the second, averaging 38.6% in the match, while outrebounding the Trolls 37-28. The Trinity Christian Trolls went 46.4% from the field in the first and 47.6% in the second. 

The Trojans will split the conference series against the Trolls as TIU took an 88-82 victory in their previous meeting on November 14th, 2012 at TCC.

The Trojans are back on the court on the campus of TIU at the Meyer Sports Complex on Wednesday, January 16th against Cardinal Stritch. Game time is 7:30 and TIU fans can watch live at:
