The football team lost to the University of St. Francis (IL) on Saturday 28-3.  St. Francis began the game with a 13 play 59 yard drive that put them in position to knock down a 24 yard field goal.  St. Francis put together another drive that resulted in a 12 yard touchdown pass from John Goolsby to Jason Fiske with just over a minute left in the second quarter.

Following the blocked extra point attempt the Saints took a 9-0 lead into the break.

On the Saints second drive of the third quarter they again found the end zone with another Goolsby to Fiske completion this time from 11 yards out.  Down 16-0 the Trojans went on a 10 play 58 yard drive that resulted in a 25 yard Mark Wilcox field goal.  Saint Francis immediately responded with a touchdown drive that was capped by a 2 yard Javon Stewart run to the end zone.  The point after was again blocked leaving the score at 22-3.  The Saints scored once more on a 19 yard Stewart run, and for the third time in the game the St. Francis point after failed.  The game ended with the Saints out front 18-3.

"Once again we played a tough first half but struggled in the second half," said head coach Mike Gims.  "The defense led by Cordero Hightower, Pete Miller, and Dave Moreno played well."

Cole Bamburger led the Trojans running attack with 43 yards.  Cordero Hightower led the defense with 10 tackles while Pete Miller added 9.

The Trojans are at home next Saturday against St. Ambrose University.  Game time is at 1:00.
