DEERFIELD, IL - With the addition of incoming freshman, Taylor Lindblad, and current TIU students Jaime Weaver, Cassidy Ryan, and Kylie Ryan, the TIU Women's Cross Country team looks forward to a stronger season in 2012.

On Wednesday, May 23, Taylor Lindblad signed a letter of intent at Zion Benton High School in Zion, IL alongside Chris DiGrazia, the girls' cross country coach at Zion-Benton, and David Tingley, the TIU cross country coach. Taylor brings her distance running experience, which includes a personal best 20:22 in the 5k, as well as her commitment to Christ to help the Trojan runners. She was also the President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Zion-Benton. Taylor is excited to be attending TIU, which she called "one of the best Christian universities around."

Current TIU softball player Jaime Weaver also commited to running cross country for TIU in the Fall. Weaver, who will be a sophomore, has experience running cross country in high school. She even helped the short-handed Trojans in the 2011 CCAC Championship by running the 5k course in 23:26.

Cassidy and Kylie Ryan, sisters who will be TIU sophmores in the Fall, also committed to running cross country. They have not been on a cross country team before but look forward to helping the team and training throughout the summer in preparation for the racing season. Coach Tingley is excited and thankful to have these new runners as part of the cross country family at Trinity. "To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen" (Phil 4:20).
