The Lady Trojans lost their third straight CCAC game to the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves tonight 75-67.
The Cardinal Stritch University Wolves opened the game on a 10-0 run but they didn't stop there as the Wolves continued to add onto their lead and after the first five minutes of the game as they held a lead by 11 at 15-4.
The Trojans started a comeback as they went on a 10-0 run that shrank the Wolves' lead to only three points at 15-12. Stritch would answer right back and extended their lead to 21-16 after a jumper by Stritch.
The Wolves continued to build their lead in the first half as their lead grew to 13 points after another bucket with seven seconds to go in the first half as Stritch took that lead into halftime as they led 44-31.
The double-figure lead would continue as Stritch started the second half. With them maintaining their lead at 13 points, Stritch connected on back to back shots which extended the lead to 56-39.
Trinity was facing a huge deficit of 17 points when they began to mount a comeback. The Stritch 17 point lead would shrink to single digits with five and a half minutes to go in the game. The Trojans used a 17-8 run to cut the Wolves lead to eight points.
After a three pointer by Rudie Denson (SR Stone Mountain, Ga) the Wolves lead was down to four points, 71-67. The win for the Wolves ultimately came at the free throw line as the Wolves went four for four from the line in the last thirty seconds of the game. The Lady Trojans let a close one slip away as the final horn sounded at 75-67 in favor of the Wolves.
Brittany Simon (JR Clinton Township, MI) had 17 points to lead the Lady Trojans Cassie Glendenning (JR Stillman Valley) and Clarrisa Woodard (SO Kokomo, IN) both added 13.
The Lady Trojans next game will be on Jan. 14th at home against Holy Cross at 5:30 P.M.
