DEERFIELD, IL - The Trinity International University women's soccer team shuts out the Taylor Trojans 1 - 0.
The Trinity Trojans took on the Taylor Trojans in tight contest today. The teams seemed to be evenly matched in the first half as ball possession switched between teams often. The defense on both sides of the ball was strong as each team recorded only three shots and one shot on goal in the half. The Trinity Trojans had the wind advantage in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net.

The second half began with a 0 -0 tie. The game looked similar to the first half until the 58th minute when junior Diana Anderson found the feet of senior Michelle Renaud in front of the goal and Renaud put the ball in the net.

With the wind at their backs, Taylor had many opportunities to even the score, but they were denied by senior goalkeeper Rebekah Niedermayer. Niedermayer had five saves on the day and recorded her third shutout of the season.

The Trinity Trojans improve to 3 - 0 on the season and have not allowed a goal from their opponents in all three victories. They will attempt to continue their winning streak as they take on Vanguard University at home on Friday, September 10th, at 2:00 p.m.
