The TIU volleyball team went a perfect 4-0 this weekend in Chicago at the ITT Tournament this weekend.
The first game TIU beat Kansas Wesleyan University on Friday 25-17, 18-25, 25-15 and 25-21. Rebecca Campbell lead the offensive attack with 13 kills out of 28 attempts. Tayler Arseneau also had 14 kills and a solo block. Brynne Eaton had three solo blocks in the match. The next game was against Lourdes College. They won 25-19, 25-15, and 25-14. Robin Curleyhair had five serving aces, although defense was the difference in this game as Eaton had three solo blocks as well as an assist on a block, Arseneau had two solo blocks and shields had two solo blocks.
On Saturday, the lady Trojans would continue their winning ways as they beat Grace College 25-22, 25-18 and 25-10. Campbell had 11 kills and Tayler added nine. Eaton had five solo blocks and Shields had one solo block and one block assist. After that match, they played their fourth and final game and defeated Siena Heights University 25-19, 25-20 and 25-16. Shields and Eaton combined for seven blocks.
On the weekend, Arseneau and Campbell combined for 88 Kills, Stoddard led the offense with 121 assists, Kingsbury led the defense with 59 digs and Campbell and Curleyhair led in service aces with 8 and 9, respectively. Shields and Eaton combined for 22 blocks toward the team's success. It was a complete effort that brought the Trojans to victory.
Tuesday, the Lady Trojans will take on conference rival Illinois Institute of Technology at 7pm in Chicago.
