Offensively the Trojans were led by Cole Bamberger's (SR Rockford, IL) 94 yards rushing versus an Iowa Wesleyan defense that was packing the box. The TIU scoring was started with a 20 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter by Jason Owens. This was followed up by a 30 yard touchdown run by quarterback Daniel Beals (SO Chicago, IL). Beals rushed for 63 yards and threw for 72 yards on the day. Trinity's last score of the day was by Bryson Lewis (JR Jeanerette, LA) on a 5 yard run. "We stuck with the game plan on offense and they really came together during the 2nd half" said Coach Wherritt.
On a special teams note, Michael Knight (FR Mobile, AL) blocked an Iowa Wesleyan field goal attempt in the 2nd quarter of the game. This was a big momentum changer in the game.
Iowa Wesleyan scored with a little over 2 minutes to go in the game on a 1 yard run.
