DEERFIELD, Ill.- Trinity International University and head coach Jenna Sippel have announced that Adlai E. Stevenson High School standout pitcher Allison Micucci will continue her softball career at TIU in the fall of 2010.

Micucci is a pitcher from Stevenson High school.  Micucci has been the lead pitcher for the past three seasons and a four-year varsity player for the Patriots and head coach Larry Friedrichs. In the first 20 games of her 2010 season, Micucci held a career record of 35-29 with a 2.19 earned-run average. She also had a incredible 336 career strikeouts in 438 innings.

Micucci does her job well at the plate, leading her team in hitting at .438 last season and, and in her first 20 games this year has hit a more impressive .469. She led the Patriots with 29 RBI in 2009, and in 25 runs this season so far.

For her efforts, Micucci was named an All-North Suburban Conference selection in 2009, and also was chosen for the All-NSC Academic Team.

Through 20 games in her 2010 Season, Micucci leads second in pitching appearances with 90, second in innings pitched with 438, third in wins with 35, third in strikeouts with 336, fourth in earned run average with a 2.19, tied single season record with 13 doubled in 2009, eighth best single season batting average (.430 in 2009).

Allie will be joining a program at Trinity International University strengthening its roots. "The softball program is very excited about Allison's decision to play for Trinity " says Coach Sippel. "Our program commits to excellence both on and off the field. Allison stands out athletically, academically, and has a passion and love for the Lord. She will be a trail blazer for this program, and we are happy she is joining our family as a Trinity Trojan softball player."

The 2010-2011 Women's Softball Team looks forward the addition of Allison Micucci to the Softball Family.
