DEERFIELD, IL- The Trinity International University men's baseball team were defeated at home by Robert Morris College, 2-8.
The Trojans (28-18, 12-13) were left in the dust as the Eagles (30-15, 17-11) flew by them on their home turf.
Robert Morris brought out the bats early in the game, gaining a significant lead over Trinity International by the fifth inning, 0-7.
TIU would make their mark on the game with three consecutive hits in the bottom of the eighth inning. Second baseman, Paul Wilson (JR Richmond Hill, ON, Canada) would get on base with a solid single to left field and batted in by a smashed double by the third baseman, Pete Miller (SR Chicago, IL) who would go 2-3 for the game. Another double would follow by NAIA National Player of the week, Kevin Tenney (JR San Diego, CA) knocking in Miller putting the Trojans on the board, 2-7.
The Eagles would score another run in the top of the ninth which the Trojans would not be able to answer, resulting in a final score of 2-8.
Owen LeFlar (SR Edmonton, AB, Canada) would be credited with the loss for TIU and Ryan Rowe (SR Tinley Park, IL) would earn the win for the Eagles.
Trinity takes on Robert Morris again in a double header on the road May 1st at 3:30 PM.
