DEERFIELD, IL - The Trinity International University women's soccer team signed, Milly Garvin, for the 2010-2011 team.
Milly Garvin is from Hudson, Illinois, and has played soccer for many years. Garvin began playing soccer on a travel team when she was seven years old. At this time, she was playing with a group of ten year olds, which gave her even more experience. When she was eleven, she played on a boys team for two years. When she rejoined the girls' team at age thirteen, Garvin's ability in soccer had flourished immensely. She entered the Olympic Development Program (ODP) and her skills improved greatly. At age fifteen, Garvin made the A team for the Little Illini Soccer Club and was a starter the entire season.
Garvin played for the State of Illinois ODP team her eighth grade and freshman year of high school. She made the Midwest Regional ODP team as well. Not only did Garvin play soccer, but she also was a two-year varsity starter and captain for her high school basketball team. Furthermore, she was a four-year starter for her high school volleyball team. After her high school accolades, Garvin attended Heartland Community College where she has been a starter for the soccer team since attending.
Off of the pitch, Garvin has a passionate heart for international missions. She has been to seven different countries since the age of twelve. She spent a summer living in Nepal, Asia doing street evangelism as well. Locally, she lead worship for her youth group for five years. Garvin looks forward to being a part of a community that where she can both play the game she loves and grow in Christ with the community.
