DEERFIELD, IL-  The Trinity International University men's baseball team won big at home defeating Calumet College of St. Joseph in both games of the doubleheader, 10-0 & 10-3.

The Trojans (19-13, 7-8) came out to avenge their loss yesterday against the Crimson Wave (4-29, 3-13) on a beautiful, slightly-windy Saturday afternoon.

In the first game, Owen Leflar (SR Edmonton, AB, Canada) earned the win pitching all six of the needed innings giving up only two hits and striking out four batters.  The loss was given to Matt Pruneau (FR Plainfield, IL).

TIU had 11 hits in the game total and scored their first run in the bottom of third inning.  After two Trojan batters being hit by a pitch, Anthony Mendoza (JR Yorkville, IL) would score off a an advance by Paul Wilson (Richmond Hill, ON, Canada) off a Calumet error by the third baseman.  Wilson would steal second and William Smith (JR Arlington Heights, IL) would steal home giving the Trojans a 2-0 lead.

Trinity would wait till the bottom of the fifth inning to score next.  Wilson would put the Trojans on the board once again with an RBI single to left field.  Pete Miller (SR Chicago, IL) would hit a rocket RBI double to left.  Mendoza would next hit a single to centerfield for 2 RBI's.  Cole Bamburger (JR Rockford, IL) would end the Trojan slug fest with a RBI single to right field.  The Trojans scored a total of 5 runs off of 6 hits giving them a commanding lead of 7-0 going into the sixth inning.

The Trojans would put a stop to the Crimson Tide in the sixth inning scoring three more runs ending the game off a Mendoza RBI double.

In Game 2, for the Trojans, Andrew Wicklund (SR Zion, IL) was credited with the win pitching all seven innings giving up six hits and striking out six batters.  Calumet's Chris Banks (JR Chicago, IL) had the loss
 
TIU scored first when Phil Sims (SR Waukegan, IL) advanced home after Calumet picked off Smith at first giving the Trojans an early 1-0 lead.
 
Trinity would add to its lead in the second inning off a Steven Collado stand up RBI triple.  Another run would be given to the Trojans off a third base error.
 
The Crimson Wave would strike back at the Trojans offensive in the top of the third inning with a 2 run RBI double by Banks.
 
The Trojans would answer in the bottom of the third with a homerun to left field by Wilson giving the Trojans a 4-2 lead going into the fourth inning.
 
TIU would add six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Bamburger would get an RBI off an error by the short stop.  Sims would earn a RBI grounding out to second.  Wilson would earn an RBI off another error by the short stop and another unearned run would be scored by Bamburger.    Smith would score on an error by the catcher and Wilson would steal second base.  The inning score-fest would end with Wilson scoring on a RBI SAC-fly by Myles Koebel (SO Phoenix, AZ) giving Trinity a steep 10-2 lead.
 
Calumet would score one more run in the sixth inning off a RBI double to left field by Ben Stepanian (SR Dyer, IN).
 
Trinity would be able to hold Calumet in the Top of the seventh ending the game in glorious Trojan victory 10-3.
 
TIU plays next at home Monday, April 12th at 1:00 PM in a make up game against Cardinal Stritch University.
