CHICAGO, IL- Coach Tom Raven earned his 100th career win as the Trinity International University men's baseball team split their doubleheader against the Illinois Institute of Technology winning 6-3 and losing 2-12.
The Trojans (17-12, 5-7) come back to Deerfield with a win and a loss to the Scarlet Hawks (8-9, 8-4) on the road.
In game 1, TIU out hit IIT twelve to six. Owen Leflar (SR Edmonton, AB, Canada) was credited with the win and Branden Schombert (SR Lockridge, IA) the loss.
The Trojan's Will Smith (JR Arlington Heights, IL) played an outstanding game, batting 3-3 and driving in 3 RBI's that enabled the TIU victory 6-3.
In game 2, IIT out hit TIU twelve to four. James Dodgen (SR Flagstaff, AZ) earned the win and Anthony Mendoza (JR Yorkville, IL) was credited the loss.
The Scarlet Hawks were able to out hit and out play the Trojans scoring a total of twelve runs with seven of those coming in the sixth inning.
The Trojan victory was Coach Tom Raven's 100th career win with hope for many more to come in the near future.
The Trojans take on Cardinal Stritch University at home April 6th at 1:00 PM.
