DEERFIELD, IL - The Trinity International University women's soccer team welcomes Abbey Duer to the 2010-2011 team.
Coming from Spring Lake, Michigan, Duer has played varsity soccer for four years. Not only was she on varsity soccer for four years, but she also played varsity golf for two years, and was on the varsity swimming and diving team for two years. Duer also played club soccer for four years with the Tri-City Striker Soccer Club.
Abbey Duer has been an active member in her community as well. She has been both a junior and senior high youth group leader for a total of six years. Her leadership has shown through as a small group leader and worship leader at her vacation bible school. Furthermore, she was an elementary worship director for one year.
Academically Duer has also thrived. As a National Honor Society member for three years, Duer challenged herself by taking advanced placement English and composition. She also has taken French for three years, Spanish for two years, and Polish for one year. Furthermore, Duer has been a classroom aid in special education for three years.
Head Coach Patrick Gilliam says, "It is exciting for us to add Abbey to what we already believe is a strong 2010 recruiting class. She not only brings with her skill/ability on the field, but tremendous character and leadership abilities; which will benefit our program for many years to come. I am confident that this very special young lady will not only impact TIU Women's Soccer, but our entire campus community, in a very positive way!"
The Trinity International community is looking forward to the addition of Abbey Duer to the Trinity family.
