ELGIN IL - Despite a double double from Patrick Atkins (JR Chicago IL) the Trojans were unable to hold on to a second half lead as the Eagles from Judson stole one away from the Trojans 107-100. The game began as Judson took control of the game early with a 12-7 start. The Trojans would continue to fall behind as they struggled to hit from the outside and fell behind even farther as the deficit would grow to 19-11. It was then that RJ Halleback (SO Cortland IL) brought the Trojans storming back with a three the cut the lead to 19-16 and then knocking down two free throws on the next possession to cut the lead to 22-20. Finally a few possessions later Halleback gave the Trojans the lead knocking down a jumper to bring the score to 24-23.
As the Second half moved along the Eagles took back the lead at 36-30 with five minutes remaining. Then Patrick Atkins would score 7 on the Trojans next 13 points to pull the Trojans ahead. At the half, the Trojans would lead 43-41.
As the second half began the Trojans would open with a 9-4 run to start to pull away from the Eagles. However, just as it seemed as though the Trojans were taking control at 61-54 the Eagles made a run of their own. A 10-0 run would give the Eagles a 3 points lead with 12 minutes remaining in the game. That would be the beginning of the end for the Trojans. The Eagles would retain the lead for the rest of the game despite the best efforts of the Trojans. In the end it would be Judson 107 TIU 100.
