The game began with a three-pointer by Ashford's, Jordan Davis, giving the Saints the early lead. Two minutes into the half, the Saints were already up by 7 points, with the score of 2-9. The Saints were in the lead for the entire first half, with as much as a 12-point margin at minute-marker 12. The half ended with Ashford ahead by five points, 30-35.
In the second half, the Trojans determined not to let the Saints keep the lead. Three minutes into the half, Melanie Duplessis scored a jumper, which put the Trojans ahead by 1 point, 38-37. Four minutes into the half, the score was tied at 41-41. The lead changed back and forth a total of five times before the Trojans took the lead for the remainder of the game at seven minutes into the half. Their lead would continue to climb for the rest of the half, with as much as a 13-point lead in the eighteenth minute of the game, at 76-63. The game would end with the Trojans ahead by 10 points. The final score was Trinity International with 77 points and Ashford University with 67 points.
Four Trojans were in double digits in Thursday's game: Duplessis led the attack with 20 total points; Vivianne Kindt and Chamissa Anderson both owned 15 points; Lavina Price followed with 12 points. Anderson earned 7 total rebounds, while Kindt owned 6 total rebounds for the Trojans.
The Trojans had a 66.7 free throw game percentage and a 47.5 field goal game percentage. The Trojans' overall record is now 6-19.
The ladies will play again on Saturday February 13, when they will host Indiana University-South Bend. Tip-off is schedules for 5:30pm.
