WHITING, IN. - Trinity's Women's Basketball played against Calumet College of St. Joseph on Wednesday night. The Calumet Crimson Waves defeated the Trojans in the final seconds of play, 75-73.

The game began with an early five point lead by the Trojans with 14:63 remaining in the first half. The Crimson Waves tried to keep the game close throughout the first half, stretching the lead to 7 points when Crimson Wave, Lydia Aceviz, scored a three pointer. The Trojans were ahead by only 1 point at the half, 36-35.

In the second half, the Crimson Waves held the lead for the majority of the half, but the Trojans were able to take the lead back once at the 11:49 minute marker. It was a Crimson Wave turnover that turned into a Trojan lead. The Crimson Waves took back the lead on their next possession with another three pointer by Aceviz. The Crimson Waves carried a small lead throughout the rest of the half.

With 15 seconds remaining in play, the Trojans', Lavina Price, hit a jumpshot from the right side of the lane to tie the game at 73. The Crimson Waves immediately got the ball down the court to Lisa Upshaw who missed a layup from the left side of the basket. Upshaw grabbed her own rebound and banked it in with 2 seconds left, giving the Crimson Waves a 2 point lead, 75-73. The Trojans inbounded the ball and immediately Upshaw fouled Trinity's Price. Unfortunately, Price missed her first shot in the bonus attempt and time ran out for the Trojans.

The Trojans will hit the hardwood again on Saturday, February 5th at Indiana University Northwest. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
