In the first half and through most of the game the Eagles were able to neutralize the red hot Ignas Verbus (JR, Lithuania) who came into the game scoring 20 or more in 5 of the past 6 contests. The second half began much like the first with the Trojans keeping the game tight with a spectacular performance from Atkins who would finish the night with 25 point 7 rebounds 4 assists and an out of this world block.
The Trojans would cut into the Judson lead early in the half closing the gap to 44-42. The Eagles would rally once more and push the lead back to nine. The Trojans continually would close the gap to four points and would not allow Judson to put them away. Then with 9:48 remaining Verbus scored 2 of his 10 points on the night to cut the lead to 66-62. The Trojan offense would then go cold as they were held scoreless over the next five minutes of play while Judson would go on a 10-0 run to push the lead to double digits for the first time on the night.
