DEERFIELD, IL - Ashley Bowman is the latest recruit to sign with the Trinity Women's Soccer Team for the 2010-2011 season. From Elmhurst, Illinois, Ashley is currently a senior at York Community High School.

Ashley has played eleven years of club soccer, six of those being with the Chicago Sockers FC where her team was ranked number seven in Illinois despite competing against the top teams in the Midwest Regional League and in national tournaments. As a four-year starting midfielder and striker in high school, Ashley helped lead her 2008 York team to their first regional championship and then lead her 2009 team to the semifinals for the Pepsi Showdown and State Sectional Finals. Furthermore, Ashley was named 2009 All-Conference and will captain the team this spring.

As is consistent with the way Coach Gilliam recruits, Ashley experiences success both on and off of the field. She is an excellent student with a 3.3 GPA. Her future plans are to study elementary education while at Trinity because she really enjoys working with young children. Ashley is also actively involved in both her church youth group and a Bible study that she helped create. She gives back to the community by volunteering at an Emergency Clothes Closet as well.

Ashley will be a great addition to the team and Trinity Women's Soccer looks forward to having her. Patrick Gilliam, head women's soccer coach, commented, ""I am tremendously excited about the addition of Ashley to both our university and women's soccer program.  She brings with her a wonderful balance of soccer ability, academic excellence, leadership, and spiritual maturity.  I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with her in the coming years and cannot wait to see the influence she will have on her teammates, our soccer program, and the entire campus community."
