CHICAGO, IL - Trinity women's basketball played at No. 3 ranked St. Xavier University Wednesday night in NAIA play. The Cougars took control of the game early on with an 11-2 lead by the fourth minute.

Unfortunately, the Trojans would not be able to take over the lead for the remainder of the game. By the end of the first half, Trinity was down by 29 points, with a score of 26-55. The Trojans, however, did not give up the fight. In the second half, they were able to keep the Cougars to a 29 point lead until the thirteenth minute. The Cougars largest lead was by 42 points, with 2:54 left in the second half. St. Xavier University beat Trinity International, 100-65.

The Cougars scored 40 of their 100 points off the Lady Trojans' 30 turnovers. Trinity only took advantage of SXU's 22 turnovers with 15 points. SXU scored 21 points from fast breaks, whereas TIU only scored 4 points. Overall, SXU just plainly outscored TIU. The Trojans had 26 points in the paint, compared to the Cougars 56 points.

Trinity totaled a 39.4 total field goal percentage, while St. Xavier totaled 57.1 percent. In three-point field goal percentages, Trinity had a 31.3 percent total, opposed to St. Xavier's 50.0 percent total. Completed free throw baskets averaged roughly the same percentage for both teams: 61.5 percent for TIU and 65.2 percent for SXU. The Trojans' overall record has now moved to 3-15.

Sophomore forward, Vivianne Kindt, led Trinity with 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field. Lavina Price also scored in double digits with 13 points. Leading the team with blocks was Chamissa Anderson, with 7 total.

The Trojans will play next on Saturday, January 23 at Trinity Christian College. TIU will be partnering with TCC in order to raise funds for the people of Haiti after the devastating earthquake that they experienced last week. All proceeds from the gate and concessions from the contest on Saturday, January 23 will be donated to efforts to help the Haitian people. Additional donations will also be taken at the door and the teams will join in prayer for Haiti between games. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
