MILWAUKEE, WI - Trinity International women's basketball played against the Wolves of Cardinal Stritch University Saturday afternoon. TIU came out very aggressively, but unfortunately, it would not be enough to beat the Wolves.

Stritch opened up the game with two consecutive three-pointers by Michelle Stelloh (West Allis, Wis.) and quickly extended beyond the six point lead. The Wolves defense held Melanie Duplessis (Lindenhurst, Ill.), the top scorer for TIU, to only four points in the half. Led by Stelloh and Angela Gray (Milwaukee, Wis.), who scored ten points apiece, Stritch led by as many as 27 points in the first period.

The Trojans hit two jumpers to end the period, decreasing the Stritch lead to 23.
TIU improved both their offense and defense in the second period, as the Wolves only outscored the Trojans by two in the half. Duplessis found her stroke, netting 13 points in the period for the Trojans, but it wasn't enough for a comeback. Gray and Brittney Daum (Gilberts, Ill.) got hot for the Wolves, contributing nine and eight points, respectively, to lead Stritch to a 74-49 win.

Duplessis led the way for TIU, finishing with 17 total points. Reanna Perera (Franklin, Wis.) recorded 10 points a team-high nine rebounds.

The Trojans overall record moves to 2-14, while their conference record is 0-3. The TIU women will hit the hardwood again on Tuesday, January 19 at Moody Bible Institute. Tip-off will be at 5:00pm.
