MILWAUKEE, WI-  The Trinity International University Trojans men's basketball team battled the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves to end their two game win streak.  The Wolves were just too much for the Trojans for the entire contest ending in a score of, 73-56.

The Trojans (5-14) were optimistic in extending their two game win streak to three coming into this contest at Cardinal Stritch University Field House.  This wasn't meant to be as the Wolves (14-4) went on to an early lead and never let the Trojans challenge them for the entire game.

With 10:30 left in the first half TIU was behind CSU 10-25.  This kind of lead was prominent through the rest of the half ending with a score of 23-48.  The Wolves were lead by Trey Triplett (SR, Lisle, IL) with 25 points and 6 rebounds.  Other notable efforts for the Wolves included Kody Braddix (SR, Glendale, AZ) 12 points and 3 assists, as well as Navjot Singh (SO, Mundelein, IL) scoring 10 points and bringing down 6 rebounds.

The Trojans certainly had their moments throughout the game including an alley-oop with 15:30 remaining in the second half from Tyrone Smith (JR, Detroit, MI) to a high flying Patrick Atkins (JR, Chicago, IL).  Atkins would lead the Trojans in scoring with 20 points.  Ignas Verbas (JR, Lithuania) also would contribute scoring 15 points and 11 boards.

As a team TIU shot only 29% from the field and three point range.  This would simply not be enough to overcome the Wolf pack team effort.  CSU simply shot better, shooting 48% from the floor and 33% behind the 3-point arc.  This kind of shooting would lead the Wolves to victory over the Trojans 56-73.

The TIU Trojans look to bounce back on the road against Olivet Nazarene in Kanakakee, IL January 21, 2010 at 7:30pm.
