DEERFIELD, IL - Trinity International University played against Calumet College of St. Joseph at home on Saturday night.
 

The Trojans started the first half unable to score a basket until the third minute. By that time, the Crimson Waves had already scored eight points. The Trojans could not sink another basket until the eighth minute, putting the score at 5-16. The first half did not go well for Trinity. When the buzzer rang, the score was 22-40 with Calumet ahead.

 

In the second half, Trinity came out strong with a lot more effort than in the first half. It was six, the closest number of points that Trinity was able to come within obtaining the lead from Calumet at the fourteenth minute marker, with a score of 54-60. However, the Trojans would not be able to take the lead from the Crimson Waves for the rest of the game. Unfortunately, Trinity lost the game 59-73.

 

Calumet player, Jackie Feldpausch dominated the court, scoring 27 points for the Crimson Waves. Moneva Fields led the Crimson Waves' defense with 10 rebounds.

 

Lavina Price led the Trojans in offensive points with a total of 21. Reanna Perera and Vivianne Kindt followed closely behind Price, with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Price also had 5 steals. Perera led in rebounds with 7 defensive rebounds.

 

Trinity International had a 37.1 field goal percentage and a 47.1 free throw percentage for the game total, while Calumet College of St. Joseph had a 52.8 field goal percentage 72.2 free throw percentage.

 

The Trojans' overall record is now 2-12, while their conference record is 0-2. They will hit the hardwood again on Tuesday, January 12 at Olivet Nazarene University. Tip-off will be at 7:00pm.
