ANCHORAGE AK - The Trojans made the long trek to Wells Fargo Arena to take on NCAA D2 opponent Anchorage Alaska University in a two day doubleheader.  In game one of the doubleheader the Trojans kept it close early trailing 38-30 at the break but in the end don't have enough firepower falling 87-57.

The game began as a back and forth affair with the Trojans knocking down three quick 3 pointers to take an early 10-9 lead on the Sea wolves.  Ignus Verbus (JR, Lithuania) and Tyrone Smith (JR, Detroit MI) would lead the Trojans most of the way with each player dumping in 13 points.  The Trojans would extend their lead to 14-11 with 13:31 to play.  However, a big three pointer by the Sea wolves tied the game up at 14.  Every time the Trojans would try to put some distance between themselves and Anchorage.  The Seawolves would hit a big shot to keep it close.  Finally with 12:00 minutes remaining in the first half the Trojans would see their last lead of the game vanish as the Sea Wolves would knock down yet another three to take a 19-17 lead.  That three would kick off a 22-2 run that would put the Sea Wolves ahead for good.

The Trojans would not be content to give the game away to the home team as they fought back from down 19 points.  Down 38-19 with only 3:00 remaining in the half the Trojans would answer the Sea Wolves run with a run of their own.  The Trojans would score the last 11 points of the first half to cut the double digit deficit to 38-30 at halftime.

The second half began the same way the first half ended with the Trojans continuing their 11-0 run by adding a Verbus free throw.  That was where the run ended however as the hot shooting Sea Wolves would knock down another three to extend the lead back to double digit where it would stay for the rest of the evening.

This newest surge by the home team would catapult them to a commanding 51-34 lead.  The lead would be extended to over 20 points as the Trojan offense all but disappeared in the second half.  While their perimeter defense left much to be desired as well.  The Sea Wolves would eventually extend their lead to 81-47 all but finishing the visiting trojans.  In the end the Trojans could only muster 57 points, almost 20 below their season average, falling 87-57 to AAU.

The two teams play again on New Years Eve @ 8PM CST
