NEW LENNOX, IL - The Trojan Men traveled to face Olivet Nazarene University for their last regular season match.
It was a cold, windy day and a day of 'lasts.' Due to the Trojans' record, they did not place high enough in CCAC conference to have post-season play. Thus, Olivet was their last match of the season.
Although the Trojan men knew it to be their last match, they still played with desire and heart. Olivet came out with high intensity and had a potent offense. ONU put two goals away early sending the Trojans into halftime trailing, 2-0.
Olivet came out and scored their 3rd goal of the game just 2 minutes into the 2nd half. Trinity's, Andrew Nyberg, put one on the scoreboard after receiving a pass from Marcio Da Cruz. ONU's defense played the rest of the half organized and kept the Trojans to only one goal for the game.
ONU defeated the Trojans, 3-1. The Trojans end their 2009 season with a record of 3-15 and finished their CCAC with a record of 3-7. Coach Gilliam is excited to work with this young team in the off-season and believes the program has a bright future in store.
