DEERFIELD - The Lady Trojans took care of business on Saturday, October 17 defeating University of St Francis (USF), 5-0.

The Lady Trojans came out to pick up another conference victory against the Fighting Saints of USF.  The Trojans played a solid half possessing the ball and challenged the USF goalkeeper by placing several balls into the mouth of the goal.  Diana Anderson heeled  a pass from Samantha VanDenack to statr the scoring for the Trojans 12 minutes into the game.  Freshman defender Courtney Ensz scored the 2nd goal of the game when she drove a free kick 20 yards out into the back post of the net.  The Trojan defense played well and secured the back allowing only 3 shots for the Fighting Saints.

The Lady Trojans entered halftime with a 2-0 lead.

Coach Gilliam encouraged the Trojans to play hard and put away the team early.  The Trojans answered the call when senior captain, Erica Koster put away a ball from Michelle Renaud with 28  minutes left to go in the game.  Two minutes later, Michelle Renaud assisted Diana Anderson for her second goal of the game.  The Trojans added another when defender Sarah Figard attacked the right flank with pace and served a flighted ball onto the head of Karen Ibata with 13:50 left in the game.  The Trojan defense secured the back and the Trojans went on to win the game, 5-0.

The Lady Trojans will resume play at home on Wednesday, October 21 against IIT.
