
The lady Trojans began the night by playing Robert Morris College (4-23). The Trojans had not played a match at home since mid-September, so they were ready to fight for their own tonight - beginning immediately in game one. The Trojans were able to hold off the Eagles in all three games, leading to the Trojan's to a strong win (25-1, 25-23, 25-15).
Taylor Arseneau was on fire tonight, leading the attack with 14 kills and an attack percentage of .367. Carly Yattaw and Katie Wilson followed with 8 and 6 kills, respectively. Wilson also had an impressive attack percentage of .500. Chelsie Shields had 5 kills with a .500 attack percentage as well.
The Trojan's second match was against Bethel College (12-11). The Pilots did not start out strong, as the Trojans beat them in game one. The Trojans looked strong and very well organized. However, as the games went on, the Trojans were unable to carry through to win the match. There were many hard-fought rallies, but in the end Trinity lost the match (25-22, 21-25, 23-25, 16-25).
Although the team could not pull through to beat Bethel College, Taylor Arseneau again led the attack with 14 kills, with Carly Yattaw following behind closely with 12 kills. Arseneau had a .209 attack percentage, while Yattaw carried a .211.
Chelsie Shields led the defense with 4 of the team's total 7 blocks.
The Trojan's overall record is now 12-14. Their next game will take place on Tuesday, October 13th at Calumet College of St. Joe at 7:00pm.
