TIU Men's soccer continues to play with heart and determination, but came up short in a 2-1 loss at Trinity Christian Saturday night.
The Trolls put their first goal on the board when Carlos Reyes was
awarded a penalty kick at the 23rd minute of the game. The Trojans
hustled and knocked the ball around and answered back with 10 seconds
left in the half when Vasily Giannakopoulos nailed a shot from 20 yards
out into the back of the net sending both teams into half at a tie.
The
second half remained at the 1-1 tie until the 79th minute when Carlos
Reyes passed a ball to Esteban Martinez placing the ball past freshman
keeper, Collin Cone. The Trojans continued to battle, and fired several
shots hitting the crossbar in the 87th minute of the game. However,
they could not answer back and lost the game 2-1.
The Trojans are now 0-10 and will resume play against Judson College at 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 3.
