ONU, 2008 NCCAA champs, came out strong with determination and heart which the Lady Trojans could not match.
There has been a constant rivalry between the two schools for years.
ONU came out strong and had 8 shots on goal in the 1st half. Rebecca
Neidermayer, made 7 incredible saves, keeping the Trojans in the game
with only a 1-0 deficit as they entered halftime. Sophomore, Michelle
Davis, put in the Tiger's first goal of the game in the 26th minute.
The second half began and the Tigers continued to play hard and battle
for every ball. The Trojans turned on the heat in the 60th minute of
the game. They maintained possession and momentum began to shift. ONU
battled back and freshman, Meghan Pipel, scored in the 75th minute of
the game.
The Tigers kept the Trinity Trojans scoreless, winning 2-0. The
Trojans will resume play on Saturday in Palos Heights against Trinity
Christian College.
