Homecoming festivities were underway as the Lady Trojans resumed play against Spring Arbor after a two week break.
The Trojans came out to play with fire and heart. The dominated
the aerial battle winning 38/45 headers. They held possession for the
majority of the 1st half but both teams entered halftime scoreless.
The
Cougars stepped it up a notch in the 2nd half spreading out the field
which allowed them space to knock the ball around and possess. The
Lady Trojans continued to work hard and battle. However, in the 56th
minute of the game senior, Heidi Sharp, from Jackson, Michigan broke
through the Trojan defense and scored the first goal of the game.
The
Trojans tried to switch up their attack and never let up. However,
they could not find the back of the net and had a total of 3 shots for
the game. The game ended with the Trojans losing 0-1. Their record is
now 2-1-4. They will resume play against Olivette Nazarene on
Wednesday, September 23 in Bourbonnais, IL.
