September 16 - Trojans opened up their conference play to the St. Xavier Cougars at Schartner Field suffering a 2-0 defeat.

The flying red cougars were too much to handle for the Trojans.  Just 6 minutes into the first half, the Cougars worked the ball into the goal keeper box. All the traffic and commotion in the box caused the Trinity defender to mishit the ball into the back of the Trojan net.

The Trojans did not let up.  They continued to battle hard and play with heart.  They entered half time with a 1-0 deficit.

The Blue Crew came back out with an attacking presence.  Micah Price and the Giannakopoulos twins worked hard to create chances for the Trojans.  They drew several fouls allowing TIU with free-kick scoring opportunities.  However, the Trojans could not find the back of the net.

The match remained physical, with 2 yellow cards on the Cougars and 1 on the Trojans.  The Cougars picked up their second goal off a free kick served by Adrian Guzman (#18) to teammate, Dan Cross (#25), with 28 minutes left in the game.

Despite being down 2 goals, TIU continued to battle hard.  However, the Cougars were too much to handle and maintained a shut out defeating the Trojans 2-0.

The Trojans will resume play on Homecoming Saturday against Bethel College (IN) at 3:00 PM.
