The Trinity Trojan Men's Soccer Team suffered a heartbreaking loss in double overtime to Davenport University Men's Panthers, ending the game at 3-2.

Trinity's men's soccer team came out fighting for the first game of their season today versus Davenport University. A new addition to the team, Micah Price, scored the first goal in the thirteenth minute, assisted by Petro Giannakopoulos. The Davenport Panthers answered back with a goal in the twenty-second minute by Aaron Lee. The teams battled for the remainder of the half tied 1-1.
 
The second half was still tied until the sixty-second minute when the Panther's Richard Visser scored another goal for Davenport. The Panther's held the lead until they fouled Trinity's Giannakopoulos in the penalty box. A penalty kick was given to Giannakopoulos who pounded the ball in the lower left side of the net. The score was now tied 2-2. It remained tied for the remainder of the game.
 
Overtime began as the teams continued to fight for the lead. Neither team could find the back of the net until the second overtime when Alex Boehm of Davenport University scored for the Panthers, causing a heartbreaking loss for the opening game of the Trinity men's 2009 season.
 
The men play next on Saturday, August 29th in DesMoine, Iowa against Grand View College at 7:30pm.
