Coach Jill Rokosik is pleased to announce the 2009 TIU Volleyball Recruiting Class. The Lady Trojans add two players to a returning group of 13.
Kristen Sharpley is a 6' Outside Hitter from Marshall, MI. "Kristen is a solid offensive threat." Coach Rokosik said, "I expect her to compete for a starting position. Both her skill and her character will be assets to our program." Among the honors Kristen received at Marshall High School are: 1st Team All-SMAC East Division, 1st Team MHSAA Class B All-Region and 1st Team MHSAA Class B All-District. Along with serving as captain her senior year, Kristen also received Most Outstanding Offensive Player. Kristen played for Dead Frog Volleyball Club. She is the daughter of Tom and Nancy Sharpley
Jaclyn Foster, a Defensive Specialist from Lindenhurst, IL will join Kristen in our 2009 recruiting class. Hailing from Kenosha Christian Life School, Jaclyn was the team captain, earned the Best Defensive Player Award, and Most Valuable Player Award (2007 and 2008). As a junior and senior, Jaclyn also received the school's Timothy Award, which is awarded to one male and one female athlete who portray the best Christian Testimony in Athletics. She played for Wisconsin Jrs Volleyball Club. "I expect Jaclyn to compete for a spot on the court", Coach Rokosik adds, "She is a hardworking, motivated young woman who is a great fit for our program." Jaclyn is the daughter of Mike and Jill Foster.
