May 15 - Trinity International University senior Scott Lawson (Peoria, IL - Illinois Community College) claimed a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference 1st team all-conference award for his accomplishments this season.
This is the first all conference award for Lawson after claiming a honorable mention a year ago. In addition to this award, he finished 3rd in the CCAC Player of the Year voting.
Having gotten off the a strong start during the California Spring Break trip (.492), Lawson continued hitting at a torrid pace leading the conference in batting average for most of the season and finishing in 2nd at .453. He also hit .410 against teams that were ranked, at some time, in the top 25 or the receiving votes section.
In addition, Lawson hit 11 homeruns surpassing his total of 10 a year ago bringing him to a career total of 21.
Scott will be graduating from TIU in May with a degree in teaching and plans to pursue student teaching in the Fall.
