Apr 27 - Trinity International Softball proudly announces the signing of Tara Faulkner, a right handed pitcher from Kankakee, to join the 2009-2010 class.
Tara has signed a Letter of Intent to play for the Trinity Trojan softball team and the program is excited to have her join the squad.
Tara is a senior for the Clifton Central Comets. "She is a right handed pitcher and incredible athlete," said Head Coach Jenna Sippel. Her opponents this season have faced a dual threat with Tara. She is currently batting .304, 2nd overall in her area, with a .544 slugging percentage. She has 6 doubles and 2 triples, and 8 RBI so far.
Pitching has also been stellar for Tara. In 77 innings, she collected 104 strikeouts, only 10 walks, and gain an ERA of just 0.91 to amass a 4-5 record. The head softball coach at Clifton-Central noted, "Tara's record is certainly not any indication of her effort in the circle as we have not been giving her any run support. Twice she has lost 1-0 in extra innings with neither run being earned. She also collected a 2-2 tie in 13 innings and a 2-1 loss earlier in the year."
TIU softball looks forward to bringing a great class for the next season, which is evident in this signing.
