Softball went on their annual Spring Break Arizona road trip. This team has faced all types of adversity this offseason and there were multiple question marks about depth and pitching. Many of these question marks were answered as the team came together and played above expectations.
The Road trip started out with a double header against Siena Heights and Vitterbo. The first game of the double header did not turn out the way Coach Sipple and the Trojans wanted as they fell to Siena Heights 14-6. However, Trinity rebounded against Vitterbo displaying an awesome offensive display and great pitching as they were victorious 11-3. This was not only the Trojans first Victory of the season but the first win of Coach Sipple's career.
The next portion of the road trip did not go Trinity's way as they dropped 8 straight games but the young team hung together and finished the road trip on a high note.
On the last day the Trojans had one last double header against Northwestern College and Mount Mary College. In the first game against Northwestern the bats woke up putting 14 runs on the board and the pitching held up as the Trojans run ruled Northwestern 14-4. The night cap against Mount Mary was a hard fought battle. The Trojans once again came out on top 11-5 to finish the road trip on a two game win streak.
